32 Weeks Old

Oh, what a week! Max finally cut his third tooth today. His top right front tooth has now broken skin. I hope this will give him some relief and make that other front tooth come in fast. He is such a trooper and doesn't seem to be too fussy due to the teething. He has a little summer cold though and the doctor said that it is not uncommon for babies to develop colds while they are teething. It's been a rough couple of nights. He's had a runny nose that gets all crusty at night and then a cough that keeps waking him up. So, he hasn't been sleeping well the past few nights and been running a little bit of a fever. I took him to the doctor this morning and he gave us some medicine and hopefully that will help him sleep, in turn, helping mommy and daddy sleep! :)
He is such a wonderful baby! I can't believe how fast he is growing...I know I say that nearly every week, but it's true. We went to a few garage sales in the neighborhood this afternoon and I kept looking at the 3-6 month baby clothes...he's 7 1/2 months old! Looking at him in his bed, I wonder where my little baby went. I just love him so much. He has started to really enjoy eating 'finger foods'. I think he just likes making a mess. But, we cut up some watermelon this week for him to try. He really likes it. He's also had a banana and some peas that I popped out of their skin. He loves grabbing the pieces of food and putting them in his mouth. Although quite a bit of it ends up in the high chair, he still loves it. We are trying to work on using a sippy cup, but he can't quite figure it out and loses interest. We'll get there.
We didn't do much last weekend. Wanted to go to the art fair in Iowa City, but just didn't make it. On Saturday, Max decided to take almost a 4 hour nap and after being awake for a few hours, slept another 2 hours. Cutting those teeth is hard work! He took another morning nap on Sunday and when he got up, we were going to go to Target and then go to the fair. Well, we got to Target and he had a dirty diaper and as I was changing him in the ladies room, I realized it was not a contained incident. Needless to say, we came back home and never made it downtown. Oh well...it will be here again next year!
This weekend is the North Liberty Fun Days weekend. They have a whole carnival set up and are going to have a pancake breakfast tomorrow morning. We are planning on going with some friends and eating some pancakes. Then we will probably take in a few garage sales seeing as that it is the 'community garage sale' day. After that, who knows? Probably just hang out. I need to clean the house and do laundry...that fun mommy/wife business that needs to be taken care of.
Eric and I are going to go to bed now. We enjoyed a nice dinner and some fresh strawberry shortcake for dessert while we watched 'Men Who Stare at Goats'...very funny movie. Now it's time to get some rest before Max wakes up screaming...I really hope he doesn't though.
Enjoy the pictures...most of these are taken with our new camera that we got this week. We hope to learn more about it and really get into taking pictures. Have a great weekend everyone!

He loves his LeapFrog Table
It's even more fun when Mommy turns it ON!

About to get slobbery kisses from Max.

He is so excited to get up to Mommy's computer

Typical scene lately...that teether toy is the best!

Enjoying some peas!

This little seahorse was such a great gift...it will usually just sing him back to sleep.

Hey, Mom...what are you doing up there?

What are these things?

Ooooh...I can climb!

After getting onto one step he was pretty much done.

He's getting so close to standing all by himself.

I found some old baby pictures of me this week and am blown away by how much he looks like me. Everyone says he looks so much like Eric, but now I can see myself in him too.

  1. So was that the picture you were trying to take when you sent me the question about the light? It is amazing when you look at your baby pictures and look at the pictures of your child to see how they look like you. We miss you guys so much and can't wait to see ya'll.

  2. Hi Danielle,

It was so great to talk to you on the telephone today at lunch time. Your Mom and I had such a good time visiting over lunch. Guess who was the topic of conversation? Believe it or not it was Max.

    Love,
    Ann
